Bulgarian Beef Stew
1/3 cup vegetable oil
4 cups chopped onions
10 garlic cloves, minced
8 bay leaves
3.5 lbs cubed beef (London broil)
3 Tbsp sweet paprika
1 Tbsp lemon peel
1 tsp dried savory (or Italian seasoning)
½ tsp cayenne

1.     Sauté onions, garlic, bay leaves in oil until golden.
2.     Coat meat with salt and pepper.  Add to pot.  Brown.
3.     Add spices.  Mix in.

4.     Reduce heat.  Cover.  Simmer 1-2 hours.
